On 29 July 2011, Charles Moore said this in The Telegraph:

“People such as the Archbishop of Canterbury and the Prince of Wales like to attack our ‘obsession’ with economic growth. Last week, I wrote that the Left’s scornful analysis of how capitalism works was looking pretty good just now. This has led many kind readers to write and point out that THE LEFT ITSELF HAS MADE A MESS OF THINGS, and that free markets, if only they are permitted to work, correct their own errors. These points are right. Adam Smith himself explained exactly how BUSINESSMEN CORRUPTED THE MARKETS he admired. As Mervyn King, the Governor of the Bank of England, said in an interview with me earlier in the year: ‘THE CONCEPT OF BEING TOO IMPORTANT TO FAIL SHOULD HAVE NO PLACE IN A MARKET ECONOMY.’

But the strength of the Left’s analysis lies in its understanding of how the powerful have used liberal-conservative language as a cloak to secure their advantages. THUS ‘GLOBALISATION’, which ought to mean free trade throughout the world, TURNS OUT TO MEAN A SYSTEM IN WHICH BIG BANKS TAKE THE GAINS OF INTERNATIONAL SUCCESS AND TAXPAYERS IN EACH NATION AFFECTED BEAR THE COST OF ANY FAILURE. The banks only ‘come home’ when they have run out of our money. THEN OUR GOVERNMENTS GIVE THEM MORE.

This is why the phrase ‘non-dom’ is so resonant. The true tax situation of the non-dom may, in fact, be more advantageous to our country than it sounds – the non-dom pays tax on earnings within Britain. But the phrase, which implies that you can live here all the time and yet be categorised as not doing so, sounds like proof that THE RICH ARE EXEMPTED FROM THE CONTRACT THAT BINDS ALL OTHER CITIZENS OF ANY DEMOCRATIC NATION. EVEN AS TONY BLAIR AND GORDON BROWN CHANTED THE WORDS ‘THE MANY, NOT THE FEW’, THEY PRIVILEGED AND HONOURED THE FEW AS NEVER BEFORE. It is grimly fitting that THE LABOUR LEADERS WHO THREW OFF CLAUSE FOUR SOCIALISM SHOULD HAVE SECURED WHAT THAT CLAUSE CALLED THE ‘FULL FRUITS’ OF THE INDUSTRY OF THE WORKERS FOR CAPITALISTS WHO THEN GAMBLED THEM AWAY…

There is no money left for a larger welfare state. The squeeze is on. It was fascinating this week to see that only a fraction of those applying for the new incapacity benefit are, when tested, unable to work. Tough times are stripping the pretences away.

So the priorities and incentives are wrong. THEY REFLECT THE PREOCCUPATIONS OF THE ELITE RATHER THAN THE ASPIRATIONS OF THE MULTITUDE. SPENDING ON OVERSEAS AID SHOULD NOT BE ‘RING-FENCED’; LARGE SUBVENTIONS TO THE EUROPEAN UNION, LET ALONE ASSISTANCE TO THE EURO, SHOULD NOT BE PAID… GOVERNMENTS SHOULD NOT BE PREVENTED BY INTERNATIONAL INSTITUTIONS AND TREATIES FROM IMPLEMENTING POLICIES DESIGNED FOR THE PEOPLE WHO ELECTED THEM. ‘HUMAN RIGHTS’ AND EMPLOYMENT LAW SHOULD NOT MAKE IT IMPOSSIBLE TO SACK PEOPLE...

Modern governments across the Western world seem to be frightened of the people they govern, rather than on their side. Given the mess they have got us into, I suppose their fear is perfectly rational.”



On 29 July 2011, Mr Justice Royce sentenced Bilal Zaheer Ahmad to 12 years prison, saying:

“You purport to be a British citizen, but WHAT YOU STAND FOR IS TOTALLY ALIEN TO WHAT WE STAND FOR in our country. YOU BECAME A VIPER IN OUR MIDST WILLING TO GO TO AS FAR AS POSSIBLE TO STRIKE AT THE HEART OF OUR SYSTEM…

It is important MPs can hold constituency surgeries without the threat of someone pulling out a knife and trying to kill them. YOU WERE INTENT ON STRIKING AT THE HEART OF OUR DEMOCRACY… This country will not tolerate such threats to its democratic processes.'

The Daily Mail added:

“The IT worker praised 21-year-old university student Roshonara Choudhry as a 'heroine' for stabbing Stephen Timms in east London in May last year. He left a ranting message on the US-based website RevolutionMuslim.com, a day after Choudhry was jailed for life... On Facebook, he wrote:

'This sister has put us men to shame. WE SHOULD BE DOING THIS… Roshonara Choudhry is a heroine. Free Roshonara Choudhry and give her a medal for justice’…

Ahmad called on other Muslims to follow in her footsteps by attacking and killing politicians who had voted to support the war in Iraq. He posted a full list of MPs and provided an internet link to their personal contact details, suggesting constituency surgeries were a good place to 'encounter them in person'… Ahmad also published Islamic writings claiming IT IS THE DUTY OF MUSLIMS TO CARRY OUT VIOLENT JIHAD AND BECOME MARTYRS TO THE FAITH… He posted a link to a YouTube video in which he said: 'My message to the West. YOU ARE ALL GOING TO DIE'…

Police traced Ahmad to his home in Dunstall, Wolverhampton... He told officers he 'shouldn't have let my emotions get away from me' and his comments were 'tongue in cheek'.”

What a shame the judge didn’t take your emotions into account took your words at face value, eh, Bilal?

You know, when you were only being flippant? Ah well, you’ve got twelve, long years to hone your witty Facebook comments. Maybe then some judge or other will find them funny.


On 28 July 2011, Cecilia Malmström, the European Union Home Affairs Commissioner, said this:

THE EU CERTAINLY HAS THE CAPACITY TO ENLARGE ITS SHARE OF RESPONSIBILITY FOR REFUGEES AND ASYLUM SEEKERS.

At present, a truly common asylum system remains elusive, as significant differences persist among Member States in their reception and treatment of asylum-seekers. In 2010, asylum seekers from Iraq had a 49 percent likelihood of obtaining international protection in France, a 56 percent chance in Germany, and less than a 2 percent chance in Greece or Ireland. A system that treats asylum claims so disparately is far from complete. THE 60TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE REFUGEE CONVENTION, WE HOPE, WILL GIVE IMPETUS TO THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A TRUE COMMON EUROPEAN ASYLUM SYSTEM. Resettlement is the process, through which refugees are permanently relocated, USUALLY FROM LESS DEVELOPED COUNTRIES, TO NEW COUNTRIES OF PERMANENT RESIDENCE, MOST OFTEN IN THE DEVELOPED WORLD. Refugees are resettled when they cannot safely remain in their countries of first asylum or have no prospect of finding a lasting solution there…

ACCELERATION OF AN EU-WIDE RESETTLEMENT PROGRAM AND A MORE ROBUST INTAKE, INCLUDING BY OFFERING ADDITIONAL PLACES AND EXPEDITING DEPARTURE PROCEDURES FOR THOSE AWAITING RESETTLEMENT FROM THE TUNISIAN AND EGYPTIAN BORDER AREAS WITH LIBYA, WOULD PROVIDE WELCOME EVIDENCE OF AN INCREASED COMMITMENT TO INTERNATIONAL SOLIDARITY AND RESPONSIBILITY SHARING.”

You know the “more than a million people” who were forced to “leave everything behind and flee the war in Libya”, Cecilia?

Well, they will be going back now that the lovely, fluffy rebels have won the day, won’t they?

Cecilia? CECILIA? They will be going back now, surely!

Thing is, Cecilia, we, the indigenous white folks of the European continent, don’t want any more lovely, fluffy foreigners piling in on top of us. If Libyans, Somalians and Kenyans find life at home with their own kind unbearable they should seek refuge somewhere else in Africa, with people whose cultures resemble their own, they shouldn’t come here.

But you Trots all know that, don’t you? The purpose of the importation of the third world is to destroy the first one. The one made by Whitey.

F*** you, Cecilia. You’re the enemy of every half-decent European. There aren’t many in this country who don’t know what you EU trough-gobblers are all about now. Your time is running out, lady. Enjoy your foreigner-first philosophy while you can.

On 28 July 2011, Rebecca Camber said this in The Daily Mail:

“Islamic extremists have launched a poster campaign across the UK proclaiming areas where Sharia law enforcement zones have been set up. Communities have been bombarded with the posters, which read:

‘YOU ARE ENTERING A SHARIA-CONTROLLED ZONE – ISLAMIC RULES ENFORCED.’

The bright yellow messages daubed on bus stops and street lamps have already been seen across certain boroughs in London and order that in the ‘zone’ there should be ‘NO GAMBLING’, ‘NO MUSIC OR CONCERTS’, ‘NO PORN OR PROSTITUTION’, ‘NO DRUGS OR SMOKING’ AND ‘NO ALCOHOL’.

Hate preacher Anjem Choudary has claimed responsibility for the scheme, saying he plans to flood specific Muslim and non-Muslim communities around the UK… Choudary, who runs the banned militant group Islam4UK, warned:

‘We now have hundreds if not thousands of people up and down the country willing to go out and patrol the streets for us and a print run of between 10,000 and 50,000 stickers ready for distribution.

This is the best way for dealing with drunkenness and loutishness, prostitution and the sort of thug life attitude you get in British cities. WE WANT TO RUN THE AREA AS A SHARIA-CONTROLLED ZONE AND REALLY TO PUT THE SEEDS DOWN FOR AN ISLAMIC EMIRATE IN THE LONG TERM…

On 27 July 2011, the Deutsche Welle website quoted 72-year-old Brian Leake, a former soldier who acted as unwitting guinea pic in a 1958 A-bomb trial, thus:

“I looked out of the window and there was a huge tent. It had a poster across it which said 'Christmas Island Airways'. And nobody was wearing anything other than a pair of shorts and a pair of sandals... They said: 'Turn and face away from ground zero. Raise the collar of your shirt, roll down your sleeves, sit down on the ground. Close your eyes, cover your closed eyes with the palms of your hands'. The speaker said 'the weapon has now left the aircraft'. And the count-down started... 5-4-3-2-1... Flash.

You could see the flash so brightly that you could quite clearly make out the bones of your hands.”

Deutsche Welle added:

“This week the UK supreme court will decide whether the veterans of British nuclear tests on a Pacific island in the 1950s and 1960s will be allowed to go ahead with their claim, which could cost the government more than 30 million euros in compensation.

Seventy-two year old Brian Leake is one of those who served on Christmas Island in the late 1950s. The pensioner from the town of Burntwood near Birmingham in the English midlands arrived on the island in 1958. When he arrived as an 18-year-old, Christmas Island served as one of the UK's bases for nuclear tests. During his year's service there Leake witnessed four nuclear bomb tests - three mid-air explosions and one on the island itself. ALL WERE CONSIDERABLY LARGER THAN THE BOMBS OVER HIROSHIMA AND NAGASAKI…

Since then, LEAKE HAS DEVELOPED FOUR SEPARATE CANCERS. He's one of more than a thousand veterans who say their illness stems from radiation and who are now fighting the UK government for compensation…

Susanne Roff, a researcher at Scotland's Dundee School of Medicine, says data gathered by her on the UK veterans has satisfied medical experts of a plausible link between the radiation they were exposed to and illness developed later in life.

'We've been able to show that THE ISLAND WAS CONTAMINATED. THE ISLAND IS STILL CONTAMINATED,' she told Deutsche Welle. 'They could have absorbed or ingested radio nuclides from the food that they ate, from the sea or the coconut on the land, they could have got it from the very sand that they walked on.'

OTHER WESTERN NUCLEAR POWERS, INCLUDING THE US, AUSTRALIA AND FRANCE, HAVE PAID VARIOUS DEGREES OF COMPENSATION TO THEIR OWN NUCLEAR TEST VETERANS… The Defense Ministry issued a statement that read:

'There is no evidence of excess illness or mortality amongst the veterans as a group which could be linked to their participation in the tests or to exposure to radiation as a result of that participation’…

THE UK AND THE US DETONATED MORE THAN 40 NUCLEAR WEAPONS BETWEEN 1952 AND 1962 IN THE PACIFIC AND AROUND AUSTRALIA. More than 21,000 UK soldiers and officers witnessed the detonations.”



On 27 July 2011, The Daily Mail’s Jenny Hope told us that a survey carried out by the Family Doctor Association had said:

“Four out of five GPs routinely prescribe drugs to patients they believe are addicted to them, research shows… Drugs most typically abused are sleeping pills, anti-depressants and painkillers…

Official statistics show 1.5million Britons are addicted to prescribed sedatives, known as benzodiazepines. This comes at a high cost to the NHS, which spends £3billion a year on tranquillisers and anti-depressants. A report from the Health Research Board last year found that the numbers being treated for ‘problem use’ of benzodiazepines between 2003 and 2008 rose 63 per cent. It also found the number of deaths caused by them rose 35 per cent from 65 in 1998 to 88 in 2007...

Many addicts are the elderly, who in most cases were prescribed the drugs decades ago. Some continue to suffer debilitating side effects, including paranoia and memory issues. Withdrawal effects are severe. But unlike addictions to heroin and cocaine, there is almost no specialist help to quit.

In 1988 the drug watchdog first warned this medication should not be prescribed for more than a few weeks.”



On 27 July 2011, The Sun told us this:

“Family campaigners last night blasted a group for teaching pole dancing to girls aged SEVEN — and putting pictures of them on the net. The photos show youngsters upside down on poles dressed in shorts, crop tops and vests…

A spokesman for Christian group the Mothers' Union said:

'Children are being targeted with an activity that's part of a male club culture which objectifies women. We hope parents would consider the negative impact it could have on their child's perception of their own body and sexuality’…

The Sun told in June how girls aged 12 were being taught pole dancing in Plymouth, Devon, as 'gymnastic art'.”



On 26 July 2011, Christopher Hope, and Conrad Quilty-Harper said this in The Telegraph:

“20 CABINET MINISTERS MET SENIOR MURDOCH EXECUTIVES 130 TIMES OVER THE PAST 14 MONTHS…

More than a quarter of the meetings were with David Cameron, while a further 17 meetings each were held with George Osborne, the Chancellor, and Dr Liam Fox, the Defence Secretary. Mr Osborne’s meetings included a dinner in New York with Mr Murdoch, the chairman of News Corporation, on December 17 – two weeks before the media regulator was due to rule on the company’s bid for full share ownership of BSkyB.

The Chancellor teamed up again with Mr Murdoch in May and met his son James, the chairman of News International, and Rebekah Brooks, its former chief executive, on three occasions each. Mr Osborne also met Elisabeth Murdoch, Mr Murdoch’s daughter who is tipped to succeed him at News Corp, at a social function last month.

The figures also show that the first media meetings held by both Jeremy Hunt, the Culture Secretary, and Michael Gove, the Education Secretary, after their appointments were with Rupert Murdoch. William Hague, the Foreign Secretary, met senior executives from News International on five occasions. More meetings between Murdoch executives and Dominic Grieve, the Attorney General, and Chris Huhne, the Environment Secretary, are yet to be disclosed.”



On 26 July 2011, Mary Kenny said this in The Telegraph:

"Our Irish parents and grandparents would find astonishing the acidly anti-clerical views expressed in the Republic of Ireland today. The land that once called itself a foremost Catholic nation and most loyal ally of the Holy Father is awash with sentiments that seem to veer between Ulster Paisleyism and the Spanish republicanism of the 1930s…

The airwaves are full of bitter remarks supporting Taoiseach Enda Kenny’s attack on the ‘disgraceful’ Vatican, and recommending every anti-church measure from the dissolution of the monasteries to the expulsion of the Papal Nuncio and the severing of all links with the Holy See. (The recall of the Papal Nuncio this week marks the lowest point of relations between Ireland and Rome.) One correspondent wrote that it was his ardent hope that the Catholic Church would follow the example of the News of the World, and hold a ‘last Mass’ before shutting down.

The Taoiseach, meanwhile, has been met with standing ovations for his salvo against the Vatican for failing to respond with sufficient concern to the clerical sex abuse scandals as described in the Cloyne report…

This is decidedly not the Catholic Ireland in which I grew up, where politicians were falling over themselves to kiss bishops’ rings, and where one of Enda Kenny’s party predecessors as Taoiseach declared that he was a Catholic first and an Irishman second. However, the breach with the Church has been a long time coming, and for the majority of Irish citizens it is welcome...

All power becomes, eventually, overweening, and the clergy’s power grew too great. This new fierce mood of Irish anti-clericalism is all part of the reaction…

There are now calls to remove the Catholic Church from every element of Irish public life, and this is supported by a growing secularist movement… Such sweeping changes could occur in what was once Catholic Ireland: the state could become as secularist as France, with all allusion to the Almighty officially excised. Yet even in France, the holy days continue, with Pentecost and Ascension and All Saints, and Lourdes attracting millions.

The Church in Ireland will never be what it was, but the faith, at grassroots level, will not disappear. The people will climb the holy mountain of St Patrick, and come in their thousands to the shrine of Our Lady at Knock, and beggar themselves to provide children with first communion regalia; and when there is a tragedy in a small town, the church and parish priest will still be at the centre of the community, offering age-old comforts, not of the Vatican, but of the faith.”

British MEP Nigel Farage was also reprimanded by EU Commission heads in 2009 simply for criticizing 'important EU people'. Indeed, under the 1999 ruling of the European Court Of Justice (case 274/99), IT IS ILLEGAL TO CRITICIZE THE EU, and the institution is on a mission to marginalize any national political parties that do not pander to the European federal superstate agenda, by smearing them as racist and xenophobic…

SINCE EU LEADERS TREAT ANYONE WHO CRITICIZES THE EU ITSELF AS RACISTS OR EXTREMISTS, AND ROUTINELY ACT TO SILENCE THEIR FREE SPEECH, THEY SHOULD BE THE LAST PEOPLE TRUSTED TO OVERSEE AN 'EARLY WARNING SYSTEM' THAT SERVES TO IDENTIFY EXTREMIST THREATS.”



On 25 July 2011, ABC News reported thus:

"An author cited in the Norway massacre suspect's rambling, 1,500-page manifesto expressed regret Monday that her writing might have served to inspire his rampage. Gisele Littman, who writes under the name Bat Ye'or, said that since her books are in the public domain she had no control over who quoted her.

"Of course I regret if this man took inspiration from what I wrote"… she told The Associated Press...

Breivik cites Littman's work approvingly many times in the document he posted shortly before Friday's attacks.

Her 2005 book ‘Eurabia: the Euro-Arab Axis’ explores the relationship between European and Muslim countries. The term 'Eurabia' has been used by some to describe the growing influence of Islam in Europe, though Littman contended that her arguments are more complex...

‘This problem of Norway is a problem of Europe," said Littman, whose next book is titled "Europe, Globalization, and the Coming Universal Caliphate”…

Littman is a Cairo-born Jew… She settled in England, where she married, before moving to Switzerland.”



On 25 July 2011, The Daily Mail reported thus:

“The judge leading the inquiry into the phone-hacking scandal was last night urged to 'come clean' about his links to the Murdoch family. Lord Justice Leveson was facing questions over his impartiality after it emerged HE ATTENDED TWO PARTIES IN THE PAST YEAR AT THE LONDON HOME OF RUPERT MURDOCH'S DAUGHTER, ELISABETH, AND HER HUSBAND, PR SUPREMO MATTHEW FREUD.

In his role as chairman of the independent Sentencing Council, he is also reported to have had dinner last year with Mr Freud to discuss an offer from Freud Communications to give free PR advice on improving public confidence in the criminal justice system. It is not known whether he met members of the Murdoch family at any of the events or whether he discussed phone hacking and the role of the media.

Labour MP Chris Bryant last night said the revelations raised 'serious questions' about WHETHER LORD JUSTICE LEVESON WOULD BE ABLE TO COMMAND PUBLIC CONFIDENCE IN HIS ROLE AS HEAD OF THE INQUIRY, which is likely to take evidence from Mr Murdoch and his son James… Mr Bryant said the judge was ‘compromised’ by the revelations. He added:

‘I’m afraid this does raise serious questions and he does now need to come clean about exactly who he met and what they discussed. He may well be very independent but the way this has come out makes it look as if HE HAS GOT SOMETHING TO COVER UP.’

Then there is the sheer wastefulness of EU institutions. Once a month, the 736 members of the European Parliament, as well as thousands of officials, have to travel from Brussels to Strasbourg, followed by a fleet of lorries carrying their documents. You might think they should stay in Brussels, but the French insist they must have sessions in Strasbourg, too.

It is little wonder that FOR 16 YEARS IN A ROW, AUDITORS HAVE REFUSED TO SIGN OFF THE EU’S ACCOUNTS. It would almost be funny were it not so depressing…

Even as the European empire swelled and the early romanticism evaporated amid the brown envelopes and backhanders, the seeds of catastrophe were being sown… The introduction of the euro, which went into circulation in 1999 and is now used by 17 EU states and 332 million people, WAS A CATASTROPHIC MISTAKE. IT WAS A TRIUMPH OF IDEALISM AND EMPIRE-BUILDING OVER PRUDENCE AND REASON. It yoked together national economies as diverse as Germany and Portugal, Italy and Ireland, denying them the freedom to manage their own currencies and, crucially, to set their own interest rates. With rates kept low, poorer countries such as Greece, Ireland and Spain went on demented spending sprees, borrowing wildly and throwing money at developers as though it would never run out. But when the bubble burst, the reckoning was terrible.

With Greece reduced to a beggar, Ireland in hock to the IMF, Spain trembling on the brink and Italy facing the imposition of deep austerity measures, the survival of the eurozone in its current form looks highly unlikely…

Financial analysts predict that if the Italian government defaults on its debts and Italian banks collapse, as could well happen if the markets lose confidence in Silvio Berlusconi’s comic-opera government — then THE CONTAGION COULD LEAVE OUR BANKS AND INSTITUTIONS FACING LOSSES OF ALMOST £43 BILLION…

The best thing would be to let the euro die a quiet and unlamented death, allowing poorer countries to set their own interest rates, but, of course, the French and Germans would never stand for that, because of their idealistic commitment to ‘ever-closer union’…

In the manifesto, titled ‘2083: A European Declaration of Independence’ and published under the name Andrew Berwick, ISRAEL IS MENTIONED NO LESS THAN 300 TIMES, ALWAYS IN A POSITIVE LIGHT. In his writings, Breivik appears to be an ‘ARDENT ZIONIST,’ PRAISING AND EXALTING ‘THE JEWISH STATE’ BY THEODOR HERZL. Breivik also praises Israel’s policies saying, ‘Throughout the years, [Israel] has not granted most of its Muslim residents civil rights, in stark contrast to Europe, which opened its doors to Muslims and granted them exaggerated rights and citizenship’…

He praises Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for creating his right-leaning coalition.”



On 25 July 2011 Gavin Hewitt said this on the BBC web site:

“Across Europe there is a strong and growing concern about immigration. It is partly fuelled by unemployment but also has its roots in threatened identity. Societies have been changing fast. There is mounting frustration that officials at both European and national level seem not to listen to the views of the voters. With globalisation, national identity seems to have become more important. The nation state stubbornly remains the focus of most people's identity. And so extremist parties have made gains in many parts of Europe…

Some of Europe's leaders, from Angela Merkel to David Cameron, have questioned multiculturalism. The danger, of course, is that such statements can encourage extremism… Norway's tragedy will be used by some to speak of the dangers of populism.”



On 25 July 2011, after it came to light that scientists had created more than 150 human-animal hybrid embryos in British laboratories, The Daily Mail quoted Josephine Quintavalle, of pro-life group Comment on Reproductive Ethics, thus:

“I am aghast that this is going on and WE DIDN’T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT IT. WHY HAVE THEY KEPT THIS A SECRET? If they are proud of what they are doing, why do we need to ask Parliamentary questions for this to come to light? The problem with many scientists is that they want to do things because they want to experiment. That is not a good enough rationale.”

The “parliamentary question" had been asked by crossbench peer, Lord Alton, who, on 24 July, said this in the Lords:

“I argued in Parliament against the creation of human-animal hybrids as a matter of principle. NONE OF THE SCIENTISTS WHO APPEARED BEFORE US COULD GIVE US ANY JUSTIFICATION IN TERMS OF TREATMENT. Ethically it can never be justifiable, it discredits us as a country. It is dabbling in the grotesque. At every stage the justification from scientists has been: if only you allow us to do this, we will find cures for every illness known to mankind. This is emotional blackmail. Of the 80 treatments and cures which have come about from stem cells, all have come from adult stem cells, not embryonic ones. ON MORAL AND ETHICAL GROUNDS THIS FAILS: and on scientific and medical ones too.”

The Mail added:

“The hybrids have been produced secretively over the past three years… Figures seen by the Daily Mail show that 155 ‘admixed’ embryos, containing both human and animal genetic material, have been created since the introduction of the 2008 Human Fertilisation Embryology Act. This legalised the creation of a variety of hybrids, including an animal egg fertilised by a human sperm; ‘cybrids’, in which a human nucleus is implanted into an animal cell; and ‘chimeras’, in which human cells are mixed with animal embryos… Human-animal hybrids are also created in other countries, many of which have little or no regulation.”

On 22 July, Professor Thomas Baldwin was quoted by The Telegraph thus:

"The fear is that IF YOU START PUTTING VERY LARGE NUMBERS OF HUMAN BRAIN CELLS INTO THE BRAINS OF PRIMATES SUDDENLY YOU MIGHT TRANSFORM THE PRIMATE INTO SOMETHING THAT HAS SOME OF THE CAPACITIES THAT WE REGARD AS DISTINCTIVELY HUMAN.”



On 25 July 2011, The Telegraph quoted Labour MP, Chris Bryant, thus:

The attacks... targeted a government known for its embrace of multiculturalist policies...

Oslo is the namesake of one of the most ambitious – and misguided – attempts by Israel, under the mediation of the Norwegians, to reach a peace accord with our Palestinian neighbors. Norway’s capital is where the Nobel Peace Prize is presented annually...

Now along with their dogged pursuit of peace, the Norwegians are also coming to grips with the reality of evil in their midst. The Jersualem Post's commentary upon the Breivik issue is is more even-handed than that of most British media.

However, as so many of the leading lights of the multiculturalising project in the West (not in Israel, China, India, Africa or South America) were, and still are, Jewish, one wonders if the JP isn’t just picking up a few Brownie points where it thinks it can.



On 23 July 2011, Paul Bracchi wrote the following in The Daily Mail:

“Katie was just 12 when she and a friend, also aged 12, went with six young men to a park in Reading where ‘something terrible’ happened. Sadly, it doesn’t take a genius to work out what that ‘something terrible’ was.

The six men, all promising local footballers, claimed they thought the girls were at least 16, but they were subsequently convicted of statutory rape because, in the eyes of the law, the girls were unable to give their consent. Last week, though, THE DEFENDANTS WERE CONTROVERSIALLY FREED FROM JAIL AFTER THE APPEAL COURT RULED THAT THE GIRLS HAD ‘WANTED SEX’.

In other words, ACCORDING TO THE JUDGMENT, KATIE AND HER FRIEND, BOTH JUST 12, REMEMBER, WERE NOT REALLY VICTIMS AT ALL.

Worse, it gave credence to the view, in the eyes of some, at least, that THEY WERE ACTUALLY TO BLAME FOR GETTING THE SIX FOOTBALLERS, AGED BETWEEN 18 AND 21, INCLUDING A FORMER MEMBER OF READING FC’S ACADEMY, INTO TROUBLE AND RUINING THEIR CAREERS…

The incident in the park, and its aftermath, have been a personal tragedy for Katie, who is now receiving counselling. But the tragedy spreads wider, for THE CASE ALSO EXPOSES THE INCREASING SEXUALISATION OF CHILDREN AND THE SICKENING CULTURE OF GROUP SEX, WHICH SOMEHOW SEEMS TO HAVE BECOME ACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOUR FOR A GROWING NUMBER OF PREDATORY TEENAGE MALES…

Anyone who is in any doubt should read the comments of the original trial judge, who said that the six accused standing in the dock in front of him in March this year had treated Katie and her friend ‘AS IF THEY WERE PIECES OF FLESH’, before sentencing them to two years...

‘There is nothing to be scared of,’ her mother tells her before Katie begins to recount, in little more than a whisper, detail by harrowing detail, the chain of events that ended with her going to a park at night with six young men she had never met.

Those events unfolded one weekend in February last year, when Katie and her mother returned to Reading to visit relatives. During the visit, Katie met the girl who had once been her best friend. We shall call her Lucy. Lucy, who as we shall see is certainly old beyond her years, invited Katie to a ‘sleepover’, and in the evening they both attended a family birthday party in a local hall. Soon, Lucy began exchanging text messages with a boy, or rather a young man, whose number she had obtained three weeks earlier... The young man’s name was Jahvon Edwards…

Edwards and his ‘five friends’ pulled up outside the hall, where the family gathering was still in full flow, in two Vauxhall Corsa cars. Lucy then asked Katie to come outside with her.

‘I went with her because I didn’t want to leave her on her own,’ says Katie. She says she wasn’t aware of what Lucy had told Edwards in the text messages. Katie reluctantly got into one vehicle, Lucy in the other. Katie says she went along because she thought they were only going for a short drive and would be back in ‘five minutes’…

When they stopped at a garage in Reading, the girls got out and Katie says she started to cry.

‘I told Lucy I was scared and that I wanted to go back, but she said there was no way we would be able to on our own because we had gone too far.’

So Katie returned to the car. She and Lucy were taken to a local park... Katie says she saw Lucy disappear behind a tree, from where she then began calling Edwards and his friends over ‘one by one’ for sex…

Meanwhile, back in the park, Katie went and sat on a bench and her eyes began to well up again. One of the footballers wouldn’t leave her alone, however, and kept pestering her to perform a sex act on him, which, legally, is still classed as rape.

‘I kept saying 'No, no', but he kept on, so I gave in,’ she says, her voice faltering. ‘I have never done anything like that before, and I would never do it again. That’s the truth’…

Afterwards, she and Lucy were driven back to town and dropped off near to where Lucy lived. By now, Lucy’s parents had realised the girls were missing and had called the police. They were found wandering along a lane in the vicinity of her home at 2am… Katie was reunited with her mother at the police station and, for the third time that night, broke down in tears… The following day, Katie and Lucy were interviewed by detectives.

JAHVON EDWARDS, who lives with his mother in Reading, was subsequently arrested and charged with rape, along with DENNIS DE SOUSA, 19, JAHSON DOWNES, 20, ASHLEY CHARLES, 20, COURTNEY AMOS, 20, and LUKE FARRUGIA, 21.

ALL BUT TWO OF THEM ARE FROM BROKEN HOMES.

In the run-up to their crown court appearance, SEVERAL OF THEM WERE BUSY EXCHANGING CRUDE JOKES ABOUT SEX AND PROSTITUTES ON TWITTER. Take de Sousa, WHOSE OWN FATHER SPENT MUCH OF THE EIGHTIES AND NINETIES IN AND OUT OF PRISON FOR CRIMES INCLUDING AFFRAY AND CONSPIRACY TO SUPPLY DRUGS.

‘Love me some **** (the name given to a particular sex act) and I LOVE a woman that likes to do it,’ he tweeted, followed by: ‘Like what you see, but don’t touch it hoe (street slang for prostitute).’

Amos, BROUGHT UP BY HIS MOTHER and who, until his rape conviction, was hoping to pursue a career as a children’s football coach. He re-tweeted this offering from a friend: ‘I use to be a shy boy when I was young, until I lost my virginity and started **** ******** (slang for pleasuring a woman) females like no tomorrow.’

Or Charles, who has a conviction for assault, and used the ‘hashtag’ (a keyword used to categorise a Tweet) TheJoyOfTeenSex — a reference to the Channel 4 series of the same name. He later describes WHAT HE MIGHT LIKE TO DO TO A FRIEND’S MOTHER…

It was apparent that they see themselves, not the girls, as the real victims of what happened that night. Their conviction remains but their sentences have now been suspended, and they will remain on the Sex Offenders’ Register for ten years.

‘Our lives have been ruined, and none of us are now able to go on and follow the careers that we would have chosen for ourselves,’ said de Sousa, who now lives in a council flat with his father. ‘I feel we were tricked into going to the park with them’ (a reference to the fact that Lucy claimed she was 16 on her Facebook page)…

But isn’t the crux of the matter that he and his five friends were quite prepared to take two young girls, regardless of how old they thought they may or may not have been, to a park with the specific intention of having sex with them?

REPEAT: SIX BOYS. TWO GIRLS.

The judge who jailed them certainly thought so. ‘It is clear to me,’ he told them, ‘that all of you were utterly reckless in what you did that night. Those girls were utterly unknown to you. You saw those girls as utterly willing sexual partners… and behaved towards them as if THEY WERE SIMPLY PIECES OF FLESH, not people.’

The Appeal Court took a more lenient view. You can be the judge of who was right.”

Let me rephrase this: four of the six were absent dads who took no responsibility for raising the child they created. And the dads in question were black. And the children they sired but did not raise would, subsequently, see nothing wrong in having group sex with a twelve-year-old.

JEWS, AND ESPECIALLY ISRAEL, FORMED THE BULWARK AGAINST MUSLIM DOMINATION OF EUROPE…

The dominance of the global citizenship view at Westminster explains why, for instance, ALL THREE PARTIES SUPPORT MASSIVELY INCREASING THE OVERSEAS AID BUDGET DESPITE THE PARLOUS STATE OF OUR NATIONAL FINANCES.

Andrew Mitchell, the International Development Secretary, has distilled the rationale for this policy into a SMUG SOUNDBITE: 'THIS GOVERNMENT WILL NOT BALANCE THE BOOKS ON THE BACKS OF THE POOREST CHILDREN IN THE WORLD.' WHENEVER HE UTTERS IT IN THE COMMONS CHAMBER HE GETS VOCAL SUPPORT FROM LIB DEMS, LABOUR MPS AND CAMERON CONSERVATIVES ALIKE.

YET THIS GOVERNMENT IS QUITE CONTENT TO BALANCE THE BOOKS ON THE BACKS OF BRITISH CHILDREN, TREBLING STUDENT FEES, abolishing educational maintenance allowance and planning to scrap child benefit for families with an adult paying 40 per cent income tax.

THE IDEOLOGY OF GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP HAS LED MINISTERS TO PRIORITISE THE CHILDREN OF THE THIRD WORLD SIMPLY BECAUSE THEY ARE POORER.

The great 1945 Labour administration was motivated and sustained by a desire to provide 'homes fit for heroes' – housing for Britain’s returning servicemen and their families who had seen out the Blitz in a shared national endeavour. “I'm starting to think that the Left might actually be right. What with the the phone-hacking scandal, the eurozone crisis and the US economic woes, THE GREEDY FEW HAVE LEFT PEOPLE DISILLUSIONED WITH OUR DEBASED DEMOCRACIES.

It has taken me more than 30 years as a journalist to ask myself this question, but this week I find that I must: is the Left right after all? You see, one of the great arguments of the Left is that what the Right calls ‘THE FREE MARKET’ IS ACTUALLY A SET-UP.

THE RICH RUN A GLOBAL SYSTEM THAT ALLOWS THEM TO ACCUMULATE CAPITAL AND PAY THE LOWEST POSSIBLE PRICE FOR LABOUR. THE FREEDOM THAT RESULTS APPLIES ONLY TO THEM. THE MANY SIMPLY HAVE TO WORK HARDER, IN CONDITIONS THAT GROW EVER MORE INSECURE, TO ENRICH THE FEW. In the 1970s and 1980s, it was easy to refute this line of reasoning because it was obvious, particularly in Britain, that it was the trade unions that were holding people back. Bad jobs were protected and good ones could not be created. ‘Industrial action’ did not mean producing goods and services that people wanted to buy, it meant going on strike. The most visible form of worker oppression was picketing. The most important thing about Arthur Scargill’s disastrous miners’ strike was that HE ALWAYS REFUSED TO HOLD A BALLOT ON IT.

A key symptom of popular disillusionment with the Left was the moment, in the late 1970s, when the circulation of Rupert Murdoch’s Thatcher-supporting Sun overtook that of the ever-Labour Daily Mirror. WORKING PEOPLE WANTED TO THROW OFF THE CHAINS THAT KARL MARX HAD CLAIMED WERE SHACKLING THEM – AND JOIN THE BOURGEOISIE WHICH HE HATED… But as we have surveyed the Murdoch scandal of the past fortnight, few could deny that it has revealed how AN INTERNATIONAL COMPANY HAS BULLIED AND BOUGHT ITS WAY TO CONTROL OF PARTY LEADERSHIPS, POLICE FORCES AND REGULATORY PROCESSES… Murdoch himself, like a tired old Godfather, told the House of Commons media committee on Tuesday that HE WAS SO OFTEN COURTED BY PRIME MINISTERS THAT HE WISHED THEY WOULD LEAVE HIM ALONE.

The Left was right that THE POWER OF RUPERT MURDOCH HAD BECOME AN ANTI-SOCIAL FORCE. The Right (in which, for these purposes, ONE MUST INCLUDE THE NEW LABOUR OF TONY BLAIR AND GORDON BROWN) was too slow to see this, partly because it CONFUSED POPULISM AND DEMOCRACY. One of Mr Murdoch’s biggest arguments for getting what he wanted in the expansion of his multi-media empire was the backing of ‘our readers’. But THE NEWS OF THE WORLD AND THE SUN WENT OUT OF THE WAY IN RECENT YEARS TO GIVE THEIR READERS FAR TOO LITTLE INFORMATION TO FORM POLITICAL JUDGMENTS. HIS PAPERS WERE TOOLS FOR HIS POWER…

It has surprised me to read fellow defenders of the free press saying how sad they are that the News of the World closed. IN ITS STUPIDITY, NARROWNESS AND CRUELTY, AND IN ITS METHODS, THE PAPER WAS A DISGRACE TO THE FREE PRESS… It is rather as if supporters of parliamentary democracy were to lament the collapse of the BNP…

The credit crunch has exposed a similar process of how emancipation can be hijacked. The greater freedom to borrow which began in the 1980s was good for most people. A society in which credit is very restricted is one in which new people cannot rise. How many small businesses could start or first homes be bought without a loan? But when loans become the means by which millions finance mere consumption, that is different. And when the banks that look after our money take it away, lose it and then, because of government guarantee, are not punished themselves, something much worse happens. It turns out – as the Left always claims – that A SYSTEM PURPORTING TO ADVANCE THE MANY HAS BEEN PERVERTED IN ORDER TO ENRICH THE FEW. We were once one of the greatest military powers on Earth, our mighty influence reflected in our heroic victories in two world wars and our daring recapture of the Falkland Islands in 1982. Yet today, that prestige has vanished as our military decline accelerates. While other departments, PARTICULARLY OVERSEAS AID, education and SOCIAL SECURITY, have enjoyed big increases in their budgets, THE MINISTRY OF DEFENCE HAS TAKEN AN AXE TO ITS FRONT-LINE SERVICES.

The Government is about to announce that, over the next decade, THE REGULAR ARMY IS TO BE REDUCED BY 17,000 FROM ITS PRESENT STRENGTH OF 101,000 TO JUST 84,000 IN 2020, a drastic loss of professional soldiering that cannot be compensated by promises of increased funding for the Territorials.

The butchery is perhaps even worse in the other two services. BY 2015 THE RAF WILL HAVE FEWER COMBAT AIRCRAFT THAN SWEDEN, AND THE NAVY WILL SHRINK TO ITS SMALLEST SIZE SINCE THE MID-17TH CENTURY. Thanks to the scrapping of the HMS Ark Royal and its fleet of Harrier jets BRITAIN NOW HAS NO AIRCRAFT CARRIER AT ALL, a bizarre position for a nation that once ruled the waves and pioneered naval aviation…

Last weekend, the Defence Select Committee issued its report about British operations in Helmand province in Afghanistan since 2006. The Committee’s scathing analysis was that THE TASKFORCE HAD FAILED TO OVERWHELM THE TALIBAN BECAUSE IT WAS POORLY EQUIPPED AND UNDER-RESOURCED, with just five Chinook helicopters, only 3,150 men and LITTLE MORE THAN HALF OF THE VEHICLES REQUIRED, NONE OF WHICH WERE CAPABLE OF WITHSTANDING THE DEADLY ATTACKS FROM THE TALIBAN’S IMPROVISED EXPLOSIVE DEVICES. This is largely why the death toll has continued to mount so remorselessly, recently passing 370. Only yesterday yet another British soldier was killed…

It is grotesque that British lives are being sacrificed to massage the egos of politicians who like to strut the global stage as do-gooding statesmen. Apart from the astonishing, selfless bravery of our troops, THERE IS NOT A SHRED OF MORALITY BEHIND ANY OF THESE INTERVENTIONS.

WE ARE TOLD WE HAVE TO FIGHT IN AFGHANISTAN TO CRUSH MUSLIM EXTREMISM AND PROMOTEWOMEN’S RIGHTS YET THE GOVERNMENT HAS ALLOWED MISOGYNISTIC ISLAMISM AND SHARIA LAW TO FLOURISH AT HOME, THANKS TO OUR OPEN BORDERS AND THE DOGMA OF MULTICULTURALISM.

In the same vein, the anti-Gaddafi rebel movement that our Government supports in Libya is riddled with anti-western Muslims, just as much of the £52million aid package that the Government announced for Somalia yesterday will be handed directly to local Muslims. “The MP who will lead the attack on Rebekah Brooks and Rupert and James Murdoch this week over their roles in the phone-hacking scandal HAS CLOSE LINKS WITH THE MEDIA EMPIRE, it is revealed today.

John Whittingdale, the Conservative chairman of the Culture, Media and Sport committee, admitted HE WAS AN OLD FRIEND OF MR MURDOCH'S CLOSE AIDE, LES HINTON, AND HAD BEEN FOR DINNER WITH MS BROOKS.

The Independent on Sunday has also learnt that Mr MURDOCH'S DAUGHTER ELISABETH, SEEN AS THE FUTURE SAVIOUR OF THE COMPANY, HAS ALSO MET MR WHITTINGDALE A NUMBER OF TIMES. Among her 386 'friends' on Facebook, THE ONLY MP SHE LISTS IS MR WHITTINGDALE. HE IS ALSO THE ONLY MP AMONG 93 FACEBOOK 'FRIENDS' OF MR HINTON.

It is also understood that the MP for Maldon was invited to Mr Hinton's wedding reception in 2009 but declined to accept in light of the committee's ongoing investigation into hacking. Mr Hinton resigned as chief executive of Mr Murdoch's Dow Jones company on Friday.

While there is no suggestion of impropriety on the part of the Tory MP – an aide to Margaret Thatcher when she was Prime Minister – the disclosure will fuel the sense that ALL THE KEY PLAYERS IN THE SCANDAL ARE INEXTRICABLY LINKED AS MEMBERS OF THE ESTABLISHMENT.

It is understood that the committee came under pressure from Conservative Central Office before last year's election over its investigation of the phone-hacking scandal, suggesting that the MPS SOFT-PEDALLED ON THE ISSUE.

Difficulties emerged in Downing Street's attempt to be open about David Cameron's social and business meetings when inconsistencies came to light in his office's list, published on Friday, of his meetings with senior News International journalists. THE LIST OMITTED, FOR EXAMPLE, MS BROOKS'S ATTENDANCE AT MR CAMERON'S BIRTHDAY PARTY IN OCTOBER. 'That is a total oversight,' said a No 10 source. 'IT IS NOT A COVER UP'…

Detectives investigating phone-hacking allegations at the News of the World are keen to question two former senior journalists at the newspaper. Scotland Yard officers have been told the two, former executive editor ALEX MARUNCHAK and deputy news editor GREG MISKIW, were both key figures linked to the use of private investigators to access confidential information.

Rebekah Brooks appointed Mr Miskiw as the News of the World's assistant editor in charge of news, and it was he who employed Glenn Mulcaire, the private investigator at the heart of the phone-hacking scandal.

Last month Mr Miskiw's former girlfriend TERENIA TARAS was arrested and questioned for several hours by Metropolitan Police officers in West Yorkshire…

Mr Miskiw is known to be a close friend of Mr Marunchak, a former crime reporter and senior executive at the NOTW. The two reportedly had mutual business arrangements including the importation of vodka from Ukraine. MR MARUNCHAK, WHO LEFT THE NEWSPAPER IN 2006, CLAIMS TO HAVE BEEN APPOINTED AS A SPECIAL ADVISER TO UKRAINE'S UK EMBASSY IN 1999.

Mr Marunchak is said to be a friend of a private investigator called Jonathan Rees who was employed by the NOTW to help provide reporters with illegally obtained confidential information. REES WAS LATER JAILED FOR FALSELY PLANTING COCAINE IN AN INNOCENT WOMAN'S CAR BUT WAS RE-EMPLOYED BY THE NOTW'S EDITOR ANDY COULSON AFTER HE SERVED HIS SENTENCE.

DETECTIVES ALSO SUSPECTED REES OF BRIBING CORRUPT OFFICERS TO SUPPLY INFORMATION TO THE MEDIA. A surveillance operation was carried out on Rees including a bug being placed in his office. It was later revealed that among the hours of taped conversations were many between Mr Marunchak and Rees discussing transactions involving thousands of pounds for work carried out for the newspaper.

Police later discovered that NOTW reporters were carrying out surveillance on the senior officer investigating a murder. Concerned that this might be an effort to pervert the course of justice, senior officers confronted Rebekah Brooks at Scotland Yard about Mr Marunchak's relationship with Rees. It is understood that Ms Brooks defended Mr Marunchak strongly.”

THEIR WEALTH MEANS THEY CAN PROVIDE FOR THEM ALL TO MEET IN COMPLETE PRIVACY AT BURFORD. Behind it all is the unspoken assumption that if you are out of favour with Rupert Murdoch, you are not likely to get invited.'

The party, held two weekends ago, reveals the extent of the couple's connections on both sides of the Commons. As a jazz band played in the landscaped gardens of the £6  million property, Mr Freud, who was wearing leather trousers, greeted guests, including EDUCATION SECRETARY MICHAEL GOVE AND CULTURE MINISTER ED VAIZEY. They drank champagne in the company of FORMER LABOUR CABINET MINISTERS PETER MANDELSON, DAVID MILIBAND, JAMES PURNELL AND DOUGLAS ALEXANDER.

Steve Hilton, Mr Cameron's shaven-headed policy guru, who was there with his forceful wife, Google communications chief Rachel Whetstone, was seen 'laughing giddily' across the political divide with Lord Mandelson and Mr Miliband.

One witness said: 'Usually, Rebekah flits around having a word with everyone. She loves being the centre of attention. But that night she spent nearly all her time with News International people.'

Some partygoers say there were clear signs of tension in the Murdoch clan. Shortly before her resignation, Elisabeth Murdoch reportedly erupted in fury at the way Ms Brooks has damaged News International, saying she had ****** the company.

The festivities started at 7pm on the Saturday evening, with the dancing – and drinking – continuing until 4am. Lord Mandelson was particularly 'vigorous', one guest said. Guests could wander into two opulent marquees laid on by entrepreneur Nick Jones, who had created two miniature versions of his London restaurants, Pizza East and Cecconi's. Mr Jones's fashionable Soho House chain of clubs and restaurants is promoted by his host's PR company, Freud Communications. With Mr Jones was his wife, broadcaster Kirsty Young.

Will Lewis, the group general manager of News International, spent a large part of the evening in a conspiratorial huddle with his old friend BBC business editor ROBERT PESTON, who has broken many of the stories during the hacking scandal. Some media commentators speculating about Mr Peston's 'inside track' on the story have highlighted the close personal and professional relationship between the two men.

The BBC's director-general Mark Thompson, corporation executive Alan Yentob and Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson – another member of the Chipping Norton Set and responsible for introducing Mrs Brooks to her husband, Old Etonian Charlie Brooks – were also present.

Clarkson's wife, Francie, came to the party 'but did not seem to be with Jeremy', according to one guest. The couple's relationship is reported to have been under strain following newspaper claims that Mr Clarkson had an affair with a member of his production staff.

Veteran Channel 4 presenter Jon Snow enjoyed the Freuds' hospitality at Burford, as did CNN host and Mail on Sunday columnist Piers Morgan, who joked on arriving with wife Celia Walden:

'I've never seen so many people who hate each other together in one room.'

Morgan was joined by actress Helena Bonham Carter, explorer Bear Grylls and TV presenter Mariella Frostrup. After a brief welcome speech, Elisabeth Murdoch invited guests to visit their luxurious private cinema, where the heavyweight boxing match between David Haye and Wladimir Klitschko was being screened.

Ulster-born comedian Patrick Kielty watched the contest with singer Lily Allen, new husband Sam Cooper and Freud. David Tang and Andrew Davies, whose Von Essen Hotels chain went into administration in April, were also there.

Intriguingly, former Culture Secretary Tessa Jowell – a victim of phone-hacking herself – turned up with her estranged husband, lawyer David Mills. Five years ago, the pair announced they had separated when Mr Mills was accused of corruption in an Italian court, a charge later thrown out. Some observers claimed the split was a ploy to distance herself from his problems, something that Ms Jowell denies.”

NEWSPAPERS DON’T RELEASE HUNDREDS OF CONVICTED TERRORISTS ON TO THE STREETS NOR THOUSANDS OF CONVICTED ORDINARY CRIMINALS EITHER. NEWSPAPERS DON’T OPEN OUR FRONTIERS TO HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF UNCHECKED MIGRANTS.

But you may – rightly – say: What about the newspapers that have helped governments do some or all of these things?… The Murdoch Press slobbered for years at the feet of the Blair government. They had a price. THE MURDOCH EMPIRE WANTED BRITAIN TO GO TO WAR, IN IRAQ AND AFGHANISTAN. THE GROTESQUE SCREECHING OF LIES THAT STAMPEDED US INTO THESE WARS WAS A JOINT OPERATION BETWEEN NEWS INTERNATIONAL AND THE DARK HEART OF ALASTAIR CAMPBELL’S DOWNING STREET.

Then, when New Labour sagged, the same deal was on offer to anyone else cynical enough to accept it. I have never forgotten October 2, 2009, when DAVID CAMERON PAID HIS FIRST INSTALMENT TO RUPERT MURDOCH, IN RETURN FOR HIS PAPERS’ SUPPORT IN THE COMING ELECTION. He promised a closer engagement in Afghanistan:

‘IF I’M PRIME MINISTER, WHITEHALL WILL GO TO WAR FROM MINUTE ONE, HOUR ONE, DAY ONE THAT I WALK THROUGH THE DOOR OF DOWNING STREET.’

He made other promises, driven by public opinion. But nobody, in September 2009, wanted us to get deeper into Afghanistan. NOBODY, THAT IS, EXCEPT MR MURDOCH.

In short, Mr CAMERON WAS QUITE READY (AS HE HAS SINCE PROVED) TO SEND PEOPLE TO THEIR DEATHS IN HELMAND AND TO ALLOW MANY MORE TO BE MAIMED FOR LIFE, TO SECURE THE SUPPORT OF THE SUN DURING THE ELECTION CAMPAIGN. THIS WAS ONE PLEDGE HE UNEQUIVOCALLY KEPT.

From that moment, I decided that Mr CAMERON WAS PERSONALLY DISGUSTING AS WELL AS POLITICALLY WRETCHED. I think paying for office with the blood and limbs of other people is quite a lot worse than hacking into Milly Dowler’s phone, even if it isn’t illegal.

And I’d like to hear Mr Cameron’s account – on oath – of the negotiations that led to this bargain.
Just as I’d like to hear Anthony Blair’s account – on oath – of what he promised these people and what role they played in the carnage he unleashed in Iraq.”

The crisis has led to the closure of the News of the World, the resignations of Ms Brooks, the arrest of former News of the World editor Andy Coulson and the launch of an FBI investigation in America into alleged hacking of 9/11 victims.

On Friday, loyal Dow Jones chief executive Les Hinton, who had worked for Rupert Murdoch for 52 years, resigned and now scrutiny is resting on her brother James. Wolff, a long-time critic of the deputy chief operating officer of News Corporation, told the Observer:

'What we are seeing is an enormous amount of frustration. James absolutely cannot survive. Whether or not he is legally culpable, he certainly mishandled this entire situation and has done for a long period of time… Rupert will be put out to pasture and an outsider not named Murdoch will be put in charge’…

James Murdoch, heir to the media dynasty, has admitted that HE MISLED PARLIAMENT OVER THE HACKING SCANDAL… He had wrongly maintained' it was carried out by just one reporter, and said it was 'a matter of serious regret' that he had approved out-of-court settlements with victims without knowing the full facts.”



On 16 July 2011, Sean Rayment, Defence Correspondent of The Daily Mail, told us this:

“THE ARMY IS TO BE CUT IN SIZE BY 17,000 SOLDIERS in a radical overhaul of the armed forces... THE REORGANISATION WILL SEE THE ARMY SHRINK TO ITS SMALLEST SIZE SINCE THE BOER WAR…

Members of the Territorial Army, the Royal Naval Reserve and the Royal Air Force Volunteers Reserve will receive better pay and conditions, but MORE WILL BE EXPECTED TO TAKE PART IN DANGEROUS MILITARY OPERATIONS WHEN NEEDED…

By 2020 THE ARMY WILL BE REDUCED FROM ITS PRESENT STRENGTH OF 101,000 REGULARS, TO 84,000.”



On 16 July 2011, in the wake of the announcement that the military would see 17,000 jobs go by 2020, The Sunday Telegraph quoted the irritation a “senior defence source” felt with the state of the Territorial Army thus:

“Over the last few years THERE HAVE BEEN A SERIES OF BAD REORGANISATIONS WHICH HAVE UNDERMINED THE STRUCTURE OF THE RESERVES AND HAVE DRIVEN OUT MANY OF THE BEST OFFICERS. Training funds have virtually stopped and PEOPLE HAVE BEEN LEAVING IN DROVES.

The TA has been reorganised seven times in the last 20 years. One review five years ago produced an infantry structure WHICH PREVENTED THE TA FROM CONDUCTING PROPER COLLECTIVE TRAINING, together with an 80 per cent recruiting cap… The reserves are a valuable resource and THEY ARE BEING WASTED.”

The Telegraph said:

“During the Iraq War in 2004, TA soldiers made up a fifth of the British force in the country. At present they account for an eighth of the British strength in Afghanistan, A FIGURE WHICH THE GOVERNMENT WANTS TO INCREASE.”

The reason for the “increase” was explained as follows:

“One of the key drivers of the review has been THE COST OF RESERVES COMPARED WITH REGULAR FORCES. Defence sources have told The Sunday Telegraph that FIVE LIGHT ROLE TERRITORIAL INFANTRY BATTALIONS COST A FIFTH OF THE AMOUNT NEEDED TO TRAIN A REGULAR INFANTRY BATTALION.”

Relatives said MANY STAFF DID NOT HAVE ENGLISH AS A FIRST LANGUAGE, LEADING TO COMMUNICATION PROBLEMS, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT CAME TO CONVERSATIONS ABOUT MEDICATION, INCREASING THE RISK OF DANGEROUS ERRORS.

One elderly woman was repeatedly given codeine despite warnings on her medical records that the drug made her very ill – on one occasion so dangerously so that she had to be rushed to hospital. Another resident due to have paracetamol daily was instead given a high-risk drug, when her regular nurse was on holiday. When the nurse checked her records, THREE SEPARATE MEMBERS OF STAFF HAD MADE THE SAME MISTAKE IN THE SAME WEEK.

The 26 interviewees spoke to the charities on condition of anonymity. SEVERAL EXPRESSED FEARS THAT MAKING COMPLAINTS LEAD TO 'REPERCUSSIONS' FOR THEIR RELATIVES OR FRIENDS BEHIND CLOSED DOORS…

High use of agency care meant staff were unlikely to get to know residents or each other, the report said. Nor did care homes communicate properly with hospitals, despite the fact their frail residents paid repeated visits to them…

Neil Duncan-Jordan, from the National Pensioners Convention, said THE FAILINGS REFLECTED A WIDER SYSTEM IN CRISIS, WITH SOME ELDERLY PEOPLE IN CARE HOMES TREATED WORSE THAN ANIMALS.

15 July 2011, resignation letters of Les Hinton, CEO of News International:

"Dear Rupert,

I have watched with sorrow from New York as the News of the World story has unfolded. I have seen hundreds of news reports of both actual and alleged misconduct during the time I was executive chairman of News International and responsible for the company... That I WAS IGNORANT OF WHAT APPARENTLY HAPPENED is irrelevant and in the circumstances I feel it is proper for me to resign from News Corp, and apologize to those hurt by the actions of the News of the World.

When I left News International in December 2007, I BELIEVED THAT THE ROTTEN ELEMENT AT THE NEWS OF THE WORLD HAD BEEN ELIMINATED; THAT IMPORTANT LESSONS HAD BEEN LEARNED; AND THAT JOURNALISTIC INTEGRITY WAS RESTORED.

My testimonies before the Culture Media and Sport Select Committee were given honestly. When I appeared before the Committee in March 2007, I EXPRESSED THE BELIEF THAT CLIVE GOODMAN HAD ACTED ALONE, but made clear our investigation was continuing.

On 14 July 2011, John T. Bennett’s essay, The Knockout Game: Racial Violence and the Conspicuous Silence of the Media, was seen in The American Thinker.

This, in part, is it:

“Most Americans have heard of recent violent 'flash mobs,' which are THE BANDS OF BLACK TEENS THAT ATTACK MOSTLY WHITE VICTIMS AND WHITE BUSINESSES, as even the New York Times once noted. But the flash mobs, which are more accurately called 'race riots' or 'racial mob violence,' are not the only interesting topic to cover in our national conversation about race. There is also the 'knockout game,' which is stunning in its brutal simplicity and stark racial significance.

The knockout game involves 'unprovoked attacks on innocent bystanders,' according to police who have had to deal with it. A retired officer explained, 'NORMALLY IT WAS A GROUP OF BLACK MALES, ONE OF WHICH WOULD STRIKE HIM AS HARD AS HE COULD IN THE FACE, attempting to knock him out with one punch,' says retired Sgt. Don Pizzo. The victims are typically not robbed, but simply punched with no provocation. Such attacks have been reported in Illinois, Massachusetts, Missouri, and New Jersey.

The knockout game has claimed at least one life so far. In St. Louis this year, 72-year old Hoang Nguyen was walking with his wife, Yen, when four 'young people' attacked. The attacker pushed the old man's face to the side to make a 'clear target for his fist,' recalled his wife. Nguyen was punched so hard that he fell to the ground and struck his head. Then the attacker turned on Nguyen's 59-year-old wife, punching her so hard that she suffered a broken eye socket. She could only watch as her husband was then kicked repeatedly… A young black male, 18-year-old Elex Murphy, is charged with first-degree murder.

In addition, a mob of young black males can be seen playing the game here. The video shows the group attacking a young white man named Adam Taylor, who was left with internal bleeding, bruising of the brain, severe whiplash, and scratches on his face when he was beaten in Columbia, MO in 2009.

Sgt. Pizzo noted that the attacks fit a pattern: 'BLACK ATTACKERS ON A WHITE VICTIM AND THE VICTIM WAS OFTEN AN OLDER PERSON WALKING ALONE.' In a thorough and sensible piece on the subject in a local arts and entertainment magazine, EIGHT OF THE VICTIMS INTERVIEWED WERE WHITE, ONE WAS BLACK, AND ONE WAS LATINO. ALL OF THE ATTACKERS, OR 'PLAYERS,' WERE BLACK…

As one player of the game says, 'we used to walk to where a lot of people be at and hit 'em. If one of the homeboys didn't knock him out, then the other would come. WHOEVER KNOCK HIM OUT WOULD BE KING.'

Local media outlets have failed to report on the racial aspect of the attacks. At best, the media will allow the race of attackers to be revealed by mugshots, or quotations from police or victims. This follows A CONSCIOUS POLICY OF SELF-CENSORSHIP THAT HAS BEEN OPENLY ADMITTED BY MAJOR NEWSPAPERS.

A New York Times editor says that his paper will report on race 'only if it's relevant to the story' or if readers would 'learn something' from the description. The Chicago Tribune's editor, Gerould Kern, explains his paper's 'approach' to concealing the truth: 'We do not reference race unless it is a fact that is central to telling the story.' Of course, NO GUILT-RIDDEN WHITE LIBERAL EDITOR WILL EVER ADMIT THAT RACE IS RELEVANT, UNLESS OF COURSE A WHITE IS ATTACKING MINORITIES.

The Los Angeles Times explains that THE MEDIA WILL NOT REPORT RACE BECAUSE THEY DON'T WANT TO 'UNFAIRLY STIGMATIZE RACIAL GROUPS.' The Washington Post ombudsman openly admits that the Times's staff 'worried about hyping a story that involved race' when blacks brawled on the Metro… The liberal media prefers to condemn minorities via low expectations and preferential, secretive reporting, which only creates a cloud of ominous suspicion over the race issue. But at least racial groups aren't being stigmatized.

A senior reporter from the Houston Chronicle admits, 'WE DON'T EVER INCLUDE RACE NORMALLY, unless race is made an issue by other people.' In other words, IF RACIAL INTEREST GROUPS MAKE SOMETHING OF THE ISSUE, RACE WILL BECOME PART OF THE STORY. And we all know which racial groups advocate on their own behalf, and which one doesn't.

The liberal media policy of resolute silence about race and crime may strike a reasonable observer as troubling, given the violence and obvious racial aspect of the knockout game and flash mob attacks. THE NET EFFECT OF THIS ORWELLIAN REPORTING IS TO PLACE MINORITY FEELINGS ABOVE THE PUBLIC INTEREST IN SAFETY...

When the liberal media does touch on the topic of race and flash mobs, it is only to condemn conservative blogs for mentioning race at all… The progressive tendency will be to define these stories as isolated incidents…

But the knockout game must be seen in the context of black-on-white violence in America. The big picture is that black-on-white violence is a social problem that deserves more attention, regardless of whether the overall crime rate is rising or falling. Department of Justice statistics show that 33% OF WHITE MURDER VICTIMS ARE KILLED BY A NON-WHITE, WHILE ONLY 8% OF BLACK MURDER VICTIMS ARE KILLED BY A NON-BLACK. Even greater disparities exist in violent crime and robbery…

Hoang Nguyen will not receive the same attention as Matthew Shepard and James Byrd, Jr. After all, Hoang was not the victim of white hatred, so he is not a household name... but he should be.”



On 13 July 2011, the European Commissioner for Home Affairs, Cecilia Malmström, announced that European Commission experts would be paying a visit to Denmark on the following two days.

This in order to ensure that Denmark was behaving itself in respect of its border controls. Malmström said:

"The Commission has been in close contact with the Danish authorities during the past weeks TO ENSURE THAT ITS PLANS WOULD NOT ENDANGER FREE MOVEMENT and would fully respect EU legislation. I welcome the Danish authorities’ clear commitment to act in line with EU rules, including the Schengen agreement…

The Commission is currently assessing all the information submitted by Denmark concerning their plans to reinforce customs controls at the borders. The final decision on whether the Danish rules are in line with EU law on free movement of goods, services AND PERSONS will also depend on how they are put in practice. This is why, in agreement with the Danish authorities, THE COMMISSION IS SENDING EXPERTS TO DENMARK TOMORROW TO ASSESS HOW THE MEASURES HAVE BEEN IMPLEMENTED. A similar gulf has opened up between the police and the rest of us. THE POLICE ARE HAPPY TO HIT PEACEFUL, PRO-HUNTING DEMONSTRATORS OF THE COUNTRYSIDE ALLIANCE OVER THE HEAD WITH RIOT STICKS. YET WHEN LOOTERS RAGE FOR AN HOUR AND A HALF THROUGH CLAPHAM, OUR CONSTABULARY SIMPLY LOOK ON.

The police, withdrawn from their proper involvement with the community, shut away behind the walls of their concrete bunkers and the electronic barriers of recorded-voice telephone systems, reflect the stance of the politicians and officials who rule over us. It was apt that last week, as havoc engulfed our cities, The Daily Telegraph reported that 20,000 public officials who last year lost their jobs in 'cuts' received a total of £1 billion in compensation. One of the foremost was a senior official of the National Policing Improvement Agency, intended 'to boost police efficiency', whose pay-off was £500,000.

On one hand, we are told that we TAXPAYERS MUST PAY £200 MILLION TO PROVIDE COMPENSATION FOR THE DAMAGE CAUSED BY THE RIOTING HOOLIGANS. On the other, TO COMPENSATE THOSE 20,000 OFFICIALS WHO HAVE LOST THEIR JOBS, WE MUST FOOT A BILL FOR FIVE TIMES THAT SUM…

It is an ancient truth of human affairs that, if power is not exercised properly and responsibly, it doesn’t just vanish. It re-emerges in what the psychologists call 'INFERIOR' FORMS, TO BE ABUSED, IN WAYS WHICH ARE ANTI-SOCIAL. The power now enjoyed by our political class and the system they represent does not ultimately belong to them. It belongs to the British people. ONLY BY COLLECTIVELY RECOVERING SOME… MANLY INDEPENDENCE OF SPIRIT… CAN WE HOPE EVER TO GET IT BACK.”












On 11 July 2011, Robert Fisk said this in The Independent:

“Murdoch was owner of The Times when I covered the blood-soaked Israeli invasion and occupation of Lebanon in 1982. Not a line was removed from my reports, however critical they were of Israel. After the invasion, Douglas-Home and Murdoch were invited by the Israelis to take a military helicopter trip into Lebanon. THE ISRAELIS TRIED TO RUBBISH MY REPORTING; Douglas-Home said he stood up for me. On the flight back to London, Douglas-Home and Murdoch sat together. ‘I knew Rupert was interested in what I was writing,’ he told me later. ‘He sort of waited for me to tell him what it was, although he didn't demand it. I didn't show it to him.’

BUT THINGS CHANGED. Before he was editor, Douglas-Home would write for the Arabic-language Al-Majella magazine, often deeply critical of Israel. Now his Times editorials took an optimistic view of the Israeli invasion. He stated that ‘there is now no worthy Palestinian to whom the world can talk’ and – for heaven's sake – that ‘perhaps at last the Palestinians on the West Bank and in the Gaza Strip will stop hoping that stage-strutters like Mr Arafat can rescue them miraculously from doing business with the Israelis."‘

ALL OF WHICH, OF COURSE, WAS OFFICIAL ISRAELI GOVERNMENT POLICY AT THE TIME.

Then, in the spring of 1983, another change. I had, with Douglas-Home's full agreement, spent months investigating the death of seven Palestinian and Lebanese prisoners of the Israelis in Sidon. It was obvious, I concluded, that THE MEN HAD BEEN MURDERED, the grave-digger even told me that their corpses had been brought to him, hands tied behind their backs, showing marks of bruising. But now Douglas-Home couldn't see how we would be ‘justified’ in running a report ‘so long after the event.’

In other words, THE VERY SYSTEM OF INVESTIGATIVE JOURNALISM, OF FACT-CHECKING AND MONTHS OF INTERVIEWS, BECAME SELF-DEFEATING. When we got the facts, too much time had passed to print them. I asked the Israelis if they would carry out a military inquiry and, anxious to show how humanitarian they were, they duly told us there would be an official investigation. The Israeli ‘inquiry’ was, I suspected, a fiction. But it was enough to "justify" publishing my long and detailed report. Once the Israelis could look like good guys, Douglas-Home's concerns evaporated.

When he died, of cancer, it was announced that his deputy, Charles Wilson, would edit the paper. Murdoch said that Wilson was ‘Charlie's choice’… Murdoch had signed up to all manner of guarantees of editorial independence, oversight and promises of goodwill when he bought The Times – AND HAD THEN FIRED HIS FIRST EDITOR, HAROLD EVANS…

In west Beirut, where dozens of Westerners were being kidnapped, I opened The Times to discover that A PRO-ISRAELI WRITER WAS CLAIMING ON OUR CENTRE PAGE THAT ALL JOURNALISTS IN WEST BEIRUT, CLEARLY INTIMIDATED BY ‘TERRORISM,’ COULD BE REGARDED ONLY AS ‘BLOODSUCKERS.’ Was the paper claiming that I, too, was a bloodsucker? In all this time, MURDOCH HAD EXPRESSED EXCLUSIVELY PRO-ISRAELI VIEWS, AND HAD ACCEPTED A ‘MAN OF THE YEAR’ AWARD FROM A PROMINENT JEWISH-AMERICAN ORGANISATION. THE TIMES EDITORIALS BECAME MORE AND MORE PRO-ISRAELI, THEIR USE OF THE WORD ‘TERRORIST’ EVER MORE PROMISCUOUS.

The end came for me when I flew to Dubai in 1988 after THE USS VINCENNES HAD SHOT DOWN AN IRANIAN PASSENGER AIRLINER OVER THE GULF. Within 24 hours, I had spoken to the British air traffic controllers at Dubai, discovered that US SHIPS HAD ROUTINELY BEEN THREATENING BRITISH AIRWAYS AIRLINERS, and that the crew of the Vincennes appeared to have panicked. The foreign desk told me the report was up for the page-one splash. I warned them that American ‘leaks’ that the IranAir pilot was trying to suicide-crash his aircraft on to the Vincennes were rubbish. They agreed.

Next day, MY REPORT APPEARED WITH ALL CRITICISM OF THE AMERICANS DELETED, with all my sources ignored. The Times even carried an editorial suggesting the pilot was indeed a suicider. A subsequent US official report and accounts by US naval officers subsequently proved my dispatch correct. Except that Times readers were not allowed to see it. This was when I first made contact with The Independent. I DIDN'T BELIEVE IN THE TIMES ANY MORE, CERTAINLY NOT IN RUPERT MURDOCH.

Months later, a senior night editor who had been on duty on the night my Vincennes report arrived, recalled in a letter that he had promoted my dispatch as the splash, but that Wilson had said:

‘There's nothing in it. There's not a fact in it. I wouldn't even run this gibberish.’ Wilson, the night editor said, called it ‘bollocks’ and ‘waffle.’ The night editor's diary for that day finished: ‘Shambles, chaos on Gulf story. Brock rewrites Fisk’…

I don't believe Murdoch personally interfered in any of the above events. He didn't need to. HE HAD TURNED THE TIMES INTO A TAME, PRO-TORY, PRO-ISRAELI PAPER SHORN OF ALL EDITORIAL INDEPENDENCE…

Almost every Arab journalist knows the importance of self-censorship, or direct censorship, and where kings and dictators do not need to give orders. They have satraps AND MINISTERS AND SENIOR POLICE OFFICERS, AND ‘DEMOCRATIC’ GOVERNMENTS, who know their wishes, their likes and dislikes. AND THEY DO WHAT THEY BELIEVE THEIR MASTER WANTS…

MURDOCH COULD NEVER BE BLAMED. Murdoch was more caliph than ever, no more responsible for an editorial or a ‘news’ story than a president of Syria is for a massacre…

On 11 August 2011 Frank Miniter's article, ENGLAND USED TO BE A COUNTRY OF MEN, appeared in The National Review.

The facts of this incident may be in dispute, but the unmanly actions of Tottenham’s gangster youth are not… THEY’VE BURNED AUTOS, LOOTED STORES, AND MUGGED PEOPLE ALONG TOTTENHAM’S HIGH ROAD AND AROUND PARTS OF LONDON. THIS REACTION SAYS SOMETHING HORRIFIC ABOUT THE CULTURE IN THESE NEIGHBORHOODS, just as much as the 1992 Los Angeles Riots displayed that all wasn’t right with the culture in the poorer neighborhoods of Los Angeles…

More recently, on July 3, 2009, England’s newspaper the Daily Mail reported that 'BRITAIN’S VIOLENT CRIME RECORD IS WORSE THAN ANY OTHER COUNTRY IN THE EUROPEAN UNION, it has been revealed. Official crime figures show THE U.K. ALSO HAS A WORSE RATE FOR ALL TYPES OF VIOLENCE THAN THE U.S. AND EVEN SOUTH AFRICA…

As the English hand their government more of their individual liberty — and thereby their self-reliant manliness — THEIR GOVERNMENT BECOMES MORE AUTHORITARIAN. Individuals have diminished means for protecting themselves and their property, which should have made London’s looting, vandalism, and other crimes very predictable…

'England used to be a country of men', says Frank Miniter.

That was before the PC Crowd, the Globalists, the International Financiers and their bought politicians got stuck in. Now we have the young, “emasculated Briton” stripping in the street before a pet footsoldier of the aforementioned New World Order folk.

This isn’t what “the proud men who once made the whole world look them in the eyes” voted for, Frank. But it IS what the “law-abiding citizens” who “have become defenseless both physically and psychologically” at the command of their “authoritarian” government voted for. Again and again and again they do so. No matter how bad it gets; no matter what their “authoritarian” masters do to them.

We in the Nationalist fraternity have words for such folk, Frank. We call them sheeple. Sometimes we call them lemmings.

I hope there is a life after death. I want to be there when our ancestors spit on their botwag descendants and T. E. Lawrence, Winston Churchill and Lord Acton toss the craven buttercups who gave away everything the “once-manly English people” fought and died for into the flames.

“Tony Blair won much praise when he announced with great fanfare last August that he was donating his huge earnings from his memoirs to the Royal British Legion. Curiously, the Armed Forces charity seems reluctant to trumpet his generosity. Mandrake can report that THE LEGION’S LATEST ACCOUNTS, WHICH COVER THE 12 MONTHS TO THE END OF SEPTEMBER 2010, MAKE NO MENTION OF ITS HAVING RECEIVED ANY MONEY FROM THE FORMER PRIME MINISTER.”



On 10 July 2011, Simon Walters told us this in The Daily Mail:

“TONY BLAIR URGED GORDON BROWN TO PERSUADE THE LABOUR MP WHO LED THE CAMPAIGN TO EXPOSE NEWS OF THE WORLD PHONE-HACKING TO BACK OFF, friends of Mr Brown said last night. Well-placed sources said Mr BLAIR, WHO HAS CLOSE LINKS WITH THE PAPER’S OWNER RUPERT MURDOCH, WANTED MR BROWN TO GET HIS ALLY TOM WATSON TO LAY OFF THE NEWS INTERNATIONAL title, but Mr Brown refused. Mr Watson’s two-year crusade played a major part in Mr Murdoch’s shock decision to close the paper after today’s edition…

The assertion that Mr Blair tried to help Mr Murdoch came amid claims that Mr WATSON WAS TOLD MRS BROOKS ‘WILL PURSUE YOU FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE’ over his stance. Mrs BROOKS BEGGED BLAIRITE EX-CABINET MINISTER TESSA JOWELL TO HELP ‘STOP THIS MADMAN TOM WATSON’ – AND ALSO SOUGHT HELP FROM HER FRIEND, MR BLAIR.

Labour MP Chris Bryant, a phone-hack victim, branded NI ‘gangsters’. A NI executive threatened to take revenge on Ed Miliband for saying Mrs Brooks should quit.”



On 9 July 2011, Tony Blair was quoted thus by The Daily Mail:

"I remain unremittingly an advocate of third way, centre ground, progressive politics that came to be called NEW LABOUR. FROM 1997 WE WERE NEW LABOUR. In June 2007, frankly we stopped. We didn’t become Old Labour exactly but WE LOST THE DRIVING RHYTHM THAT MADE US DIFFERENT AND SUCCESSFUL. It was not a government of continuity, I’m afraid, from 1997 to 2010 pursuing the same politics. It was ten plus three...

Job creation is a progressive project and you don’t create jobs by attacking the businesses that create them... If you are fighting an election, as we were on the basis ‘WE ARE THE PEOPLE BEST ABLE TO MANAGE THE ECONOMY AND LOOK AFTER IT'... It’s really hard to do that unless you have a section of business that’s prepared to come out and support you...

The Mail added:

"Mr BLAIR ALSO REITERATED HIS SUPPORT FOR THE UK’S MEMBERSHIP OF THE EURO, DESPITE THE ECONOMIC CRISIS GRIPPING THE SINGLE CURRENCY ZONE.”


On 9 July 2011, Stephen Glover said this in The Daily Mail:

“David Cameron was visibly uncomfortable during his press conference yesterday. He knew that the News of the World scandal has put him in a deep political hole...

What went badly wrong concerned the failings of one Sunday red-top newspaper, and the relations between leading politicians and one newspaper group. THERE IS NOTHING IN THE BRITISH CONSTITUTION THAT REQUIRED MR CAMERON TO ABASE HIMSELF IN FRONT OF THE MEDIA MOGUL, RUPERT MURDOCH, owner of the News of the World. It was his choice – just as IT WAS HIS CHOICE TO APPOINT ANDY COULSON, WHO HAD PRESIDED OVER A PHONE HACKING REGIME WHILE THE PAPER’S EDITOR, AS HIS MEDIA ADVISER.

THE PRIME MINISTER IGNORED MUCH FRIENDLY AND WELL-INFORMED ADVICE NOT TO APPOINT MR COULSON IN 2007. He seems also to have disregarded a tip-off from the editor of the Guardian before the last election that Mr Coulson had connections with a private investigator called Jonathan Rees, who had been in prison for seven years. Mr CAMERON WANTED MR COULSON AT HIS SIDE... BECAUSE IT GAVE HIM AN ENTRÉE INTO NEWS INTERNATIONAL AND ITS ULTIMATE BOSS, RUPERT MURDOCH, WHOSE SUPPORT HE CRAVED...

IN THE SUMMER OF 2008 MR CAMERON HITCHED A FREE LIFT ON THE AIRCRAFT OF MR MURDOCH’S SON-IN-LAW, THE PR MAN MATTHEW FREUD, SO THAT HE COULD MEET THE MEDIA MOGUL ON HIS YACHT IN THE MEDITERRANEAN. THIS RECALLED THE FLIGHT MADE BY TONY BLAIR TO AUSTRALIA IN 1995 SOON AFTER BECOMING LEADER OF THE LABOUR PARTY, WHEN HE ADDRESSED MURDOCH EXECUTIVES IN A SIMILAR ATTEMPT TO INGRATIATE HIMSELF.

Mr Cameron’s assiduous courting of the press tycoon was entirely his own choice, and went beyond what many thought wise or necessary. It was imprudent for him to get so close to Mr Freud, a near neighbour in Oxfordshire, and more imprudent still for him to befriend Rebekah Brooks, another close neighbour, and the chief executive of News International as well as a former editor of the News of the World.

AS RECENTLY AS LAST CHRISTMAS, MR CAMERON AND HIS WIFE SAMANTHA DINED WITH MRS BROOKS AND HER HUSBAND AT THEIR HOME IN OXFORDSHIRE. THIS WAS AN AMAZING THING TO HAVE DONE AT A TIME WHEN THE PHONE HACKING SCANDAL WAS ALREADY A PRESSING ISSUE, and it is impossible not to doubt his judgment. But let’s not heap all the blame on the Prime Minister. THE LEADER OF THE OPPOSITION, ED MILIBAND – A MAN NO LESS VOCAL THAN MR CAMERON IN HIS UNCTUOUS DENUNCIATIONS OF THE PRESS – ALSO HAS MUCH EXPLAINING TO DO. I don’t particularly criticise him for attending Mr Murdoch’s recent summer party, but there are unanswered questions about HIS RECRUITMENT OF TOM BALDWIN, A FORMER TIMES JOURNALIST AND MURDOCH LOYALIST, AS HIS SPIN DOCTOR. There are allegations about some of Mr Baldwin’s journalistic techniques that bear further investigation. More pertinent still is the record of Mr Miliband’s predecessor but one, TONY BLAIR, WHOSE SYCOPHANTIC COURTING OF THE MURDOCH EMPIRE WAS ONE OF THE MOST SICKENING ASPECTS OF HIS YEARS IN NO 10. I SUGGEST THAT WITHOUT THE BLIND SUPPORT OF THE MURDOCH PRESS, MR BLAIR WOULD HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO PURSUE WHAT WAS PROBABLY AN ILLEGAL WAR IN IRAQ.

THE MURDOCH NEWSPAPERS… DOWNPLAYED OR IGNORED INCONVENIENT EVIDENCE ABOUT THE WAR’S ILLEGALITY. SIGNIFICANTLY, IN THE TEN DAYS BEFORE THE INVASION, MR BLAIR AND MR MURDOCH SPOKE ON THE TELEPHONE THREE TIMES…

Mr Cameron has announced the establishment of a tribunal into the ethics of the press. Perhaps WE SHOULD HAVE ANOTHER TRIBUNAL INVESTIGATING POLITICIANS WHO HAVE SUCKED UP TO MR MURDOCH OVER THE YEARS.”



On 8 July 2011, Jonathan Walker said this in The Birmingham Post:

"Nobody has done more to bring the truth about phone hacking at the News of the World into the open than West Midlands MP Tom Watson. His battle against media mogul Rupert Murdoch's empire began in 2006, when HE HELPED TO FORCE TONY BLAIR OUT OF OFFICE... Working with Labour colleagues… he succeeded in forcing Mr Blair to promise to quit within 12 months. But Mr WATSON HAD CREATED A POWERFUL ENEMY. Rebekah Brooks, the Chief Executive of News International, was editor of The Sun at the time AND SHE WAS A SUPPORTER OF TONY BLAIR.

In a speech to the annual conference of the GMB last month, Mr Watson explained what happened next.

‘I was told then that Rebekah Brooks, then the editor of the Sun, now the Chief Executive of News International, would never forgive me for what I did to HER TONY. They said she would pursue me for the rest of my life. SHE DID, THEY HAVE… When you're faced with that daily fear, you really only have two choices. Give in and get out, or give as good as you get.’

Mr Watson found himself targeted, with strangers going through his bins and harassing his family.

‘When the neighbours complained that this time their bins had also been gone through, my family was at breaking point. And WHEN OUR THREE-YEAR-OLD HID BEHIND THE SOFA BECAUSE THERE WAS ANOTHER NASTY MAN AT THE DOOR, I SNAPPED.’

By this time, he had rejoined the Government as a Minister under the new Prime Minister, Gordon Brown. But he quit his post - and decided to fight back against the Murdoch empire.

‘I stood up in Parliament and for the first time I told the truth that dare not speak its name - that we were scared. that THE WHOLE OF BRITISH POLITICS HAD BEEN TERRIFIED INTO SILENCE. BECOME COMPLICIT IN A COVER UP OF THE ILLEGAL METHODS OF A CORPORATE BEAST THAT WAS OUT OF CONTROL’

Mr Watson joined the Commons Culture, Media and Sport Select Committee, where he was able to quiz executives from News International - the business behind the Sun and the News of the World - as well as Andy Coulson, the former News of the World editor who at that time was Director of Communications for the Conservative Party.”



On 8 July 2011, Charles Moore said this in The Telegraph:

“Until this week, it seemed that the rule of Rupert Murdoch would end only with his death. But today, I think, the end is in sight… His power will never recover…

The first time I met him, about 25 years ago, he explained British working-class aspiration. As the Second World War receded in the memory, he said, people got fed up with being preached at and told how to behave by their “betters”. They did not want to be directed by the state. They wanted to have more fun and make their own choices. Why shouldn’t they have foreign holidays and televisions and the chance to own their own homes? His dislike of the monarchy – of which, he recently told me, he has repented – was born of the same belief that ordinary people should not be held back by social systems. On the basis of this approach, he built a huge commercial and journalistic success.

But if the man is a genius, there is a touch of evil in that genius. THIS IS EXPRESSED IN POWER-MANIA, CYNICISM AND – THOUGH IT DOES NOT SEEM TO BE A PERSONAL CHARACTERISTIC OF HIS – CRUELTY.

If you are an imperialist, you are never ultimately interested in the welfare of each bit that you conquer. Your concern is only to conquer more and more, and you will sacrifice any part for the interest of the whole. This week, this has happened spectacularly. Mr Murdoch has closed the News of the World, the paper that got him started in Britain – a 168-year-old best-selling and profitable concern – because its continuing existence became, for wider reasons, inconvenient to him.

The cynicism is part of this. THE GOOD OF ANY COUNTRY IN WHICH MR MURDOCH OPERATES CONCERNS HIM MUCH LESS THAN THE MIGHT OF HIS EMPIRE. And although his commitment to fearless journalism is undoubted, HE IS PERFECTLY PREPARED TO SACRIFICE TRUTH-TELLING TO WHATEVER HIS COMMERCIAL INTEREST MAY BE.

In 1998, this paper got a scoop when a brave publisher, white-faced with indignation, came to see me. He was the editor of Chris Patten’s memoirs, to be published by the Murdoch-owned HarperCollins. He had just been told that HarperCollins would not publish the book after all. Mr Patten, the ex-governor of Hong Kong, was critical of China, and Mr MURDOCH DID NOT WANT TO RISK HIS GROWING CHINESE INTERESTS. The publisher resigned in protest.

The cynicism also involves chasing readers downmarket. Think how excellent it would have been if Mr Murdoch’s correct theory about rising popular expectations had also led his tabloid papers to give their readers helpful advice and information about saving, pensions, medical care, marriage, education and bringing up children. Instead, THOSE PAPERS HAVE CHOSEN SUBJECTS WHICH ARE DEGRADED AND, IN THE CASE OF THE NEWS OF THE WORLD, METHODS WHICH ARE CRIMINAL. Once you run papers that way, it becomes almost logical to snoop on the voicemail of a murdered teenage girl. THE POWER OF THE MURDOCH EMPIRE HAS ALSO MADE IT HARD FOR OTHER NEWSPAPERS TO TAKE A STAND AGAINST SUCH METHODS – HENCE THE WEAKNESS OF SELF-REGULATION AND THE SELF-CENSORSHIP OF JOURNALISTS WHO RECOGNISE THAT THEY MAY ONE DAY WANT TO TAKE THE MURDOCH SHILLING.

ABOVE ALL, THE CYNICISM EXTENDS TO POLITICS… When he switched the Sun from Labour to Mrs Thatcher in good time for the 1979 general election, he could plausibly argue that her beliefs and his interests coincided. Both, for instance, required reform of Britain’s appalling labour laws. But as the years passed, his main game became simply to work out who was likely to win, back him, and then threaten him if he did not grant the commercial concessions which he sought. IT WAS ON THE BASIS OF THIS DEVIL’S BARGAIN THAT TONY BLAIR AND GORDON BROWN CONSTRUCTED THE STRATEGY OF NEW LABOUR.

The most remarkable thing David Cameron did in his press conference yesterday was to be the first leader to admit that THE POLITICAL PARTIES, INCLUDING HIS OWN, ‘TURN A BLIND EYE’ TO PRESS WRONGDOING BECAUSE THEY ARE DESPERATE FOR ELECTORAL ENDORSEMENT. By saying what he did, he has broken the spell.

It remains possible, of course, that the Murdoch organisation or individual Murdoch employees will do Mr Cameron terrible damage. No doubt Rebekah Brooks could tell some bad tales if she chose to.”



On 8 July 2011, Graeme Wilson said this in The Sun:

“Islamic terrorists convicted in Britain spend less than three-and-a-half years in prison, a shock survey revealed yesterday. A third go free after no more than 16 months — and the report warns Britain is now a 'hub for the development of terrorists.'

Seven out of ten Islamic fanatics are "home-grown" British nationals, the Henry Jackson Society found. The think-tank studied 138 Islamic terror convictions from 1999-2010. It found 54 per cent resulted in sentences of between one and nine years — and those defendants spent a maximum of three-and-a-half years in jail.

Incredibly, eight terrorists avoided prison altogether.”



On 7 July 2011, The Daily Mail quoted Mark Thompson, Director General of the BBC, thus:

“I think there were some years when THE BBC, LIKE THE REST OF THE UK MEDIA, WAS VERY RETICENT ABOUT TALKING ABOUT IMMIGRATION. There was an anxiety whether or not you might be playing into a political agenda if you did items about immigration… IN THE 2010 ELECTION CAMPAIGN, NONE OF THE PARTIES WAS TALKING ABOUT IMMIGRATION.”

The BNP was talking about it, so was the National Front.

So was the British People’s Party and the England First Party. In fact, the whole of Nationalism was talking about it. Just as it has been since 1948 when the Windrush arrived.

I stood as an Independent in the 2010 election campaign. I was talking about it too.



On 6 July 2011, Lord Chris Patten said gave his maiden speech as the Chairman of the Royal Television Society's Fleming Memorial Lecture.

After telling his audience that it would be an 'act of treason' if the BBC reduced quality to chase ratings,’ he said this:

“Waste, self-indulgence and inefficiency at the BBC are inexcusable... that’s why, watching from the outside, the issue of SENIOR EXECUTIVE PAY HAS LOOKED SO TOXIC for the institution as a whole.

We should also listen hard to those who accuse us of DROWNING OUR VIEWERS AND LISTENERS IN A SMALL METROPOLITAN POND OF STEREOTYPES AND PREJUDICES…

Audiences in every different part of the UK should feel the BBC is relevant to their everyday lives…
Above all, we should pay greatest heed to any justified assertion that WE ARE GUILTY OF DESCENDING TO A TASTELESS COMMON DENOMINATOR…

Criticism that WE ARE NOT IMPARTIAL should keep us on our toes, determined to tell things as we see them while taking account of the full breadth of opinion that exists on most controversial topics.”

The following day The Mail commented thus:

“His comments will be seen as an attempt to address the long-standing claim that THE BBC IS GUILTY OF A LONDON-CENTRIC, LEFT-LEANING BIAS WHICH ALIENATES LARGE SECTIONS OF THE PUBLIC.”



On 6 July 20011, The Daily Mail quoted David Cameron thus:

"To people who are hard-headed about aid and possibly even hard-hearted about aid, I would say the programme we have in Afghanistan – trying to help the people and government of Afghanistan to have a stronger, more secure, more stable country – is not just good to people in Afghanistan, it's good for people back home in Britain."

What?

Pouring money into the Swiss bank accounts of the Kabul mafia is good for the Man on the Clapham Omnibus? Yeah right. Tony Blair was know for spin. David Cameron is developing a reputation for b***ocks.



On 6 July 2006, The Daily Mail quoted the group, Muslims Against the Crusades, thus:

"Muslims should set up Islamic emirates in the UK... WE SUGGEST IT IS TIME THAT AREAS WITH LARGE MUSLIM POPULATIONS DECLARE AN EMIRATE DELINEATING THAT MUSLIMS TRYING TO LIVE WITHIN THIS AREA ARE TRYING TO LIVE BY THE SHARIA AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE WITH THEIR OWN COURTS AND COMMUNITY WATCH AND SCHOOLS AND EVEN SELF SUFFICIENT TRADE."

The Mail added:

"ISLAMIC EXTREMISTS HAVE CALLED ON BRITISH MUSLIMS TO ESTABLISH THREE INDEPENDENT STATES WITHIN THE UK. The notorious MAC group have named Yorkshire towns BRADFORD AND DEWSBURY AND TOWER HAMLETS in East London as testbeds for blanket Sharia rule.

The medieval 'emirates' would operate entirely outside British law, according to a document on the MAC website. The MAC group, led by Abu Assadullah, was set up last year and has become notorious because of its violent protests, most provocatively burning poppies during the Remembrance Day silence.”

On 5 July 2011, Kevin Maguire said this in The Daily Mirror:

On 5 July 2011, Kirsty Walker said this in The Daily Mail:

"INCREASING AMOUNTS OF TAXPAYERS' MONEY WILL BE LOST TO CORRUPT FOREIGN REGIMES AS A RESULT OF THE GOVERNMENT'S 'BALLOONING' AID BUDGET, a senior civil servant admitted. Mark Lowcock, the highest ranking civil servant in the Department for International Development, also confessed that his department had no idea about the scale of public money already lost to fraud and corruption.

MPs on the influential public accounts committee said they were 'shocked' by the failure of officials to assess the scale of the problem at a time when SPENDING ON FOREIGN AID IS SET TO RISE BY 34 PER CENT IN REAL TERMS TO £12.6BILLION BY 2014...

The National Audit Office has already warned that Britain's aid programme is at 'risk' because of lax CONTROLS TO PREVENT FRAUD AND CORRUPTION.”


On 4 July 3011, The Daily Express quoted Josie Appleton, of the Manifesto Club civil liberties group, thus:

“Children at nursery have only just learned to speak so the idea that they can be homophobic or racist is utterly ridiculous. The obligation on teachers to report these incidents to authorities is a waste of time. Most are just kids falling out. They don’t need re-educating out of their prejudice.”

The Express explained:

“CHILDREN AS YOUNG AS THREE ARE BEING BRANDED BIGOTS AND RACISTS for remarks they make during spats in the playground. Cracking down on abusive words and terms that could be seen as racist, sectarian or homophobic has intensified in recent years as authorities attempt to stamp out bigotry in the workplace and in sport. Almost 2,000 nursery and school pupils in Scotland were reported to education authorities for making bigoted remarks over the last three years.”



On 4 July 3011, Leo McKinstry said this in The Daily Express:

“One of the most depressing traits of corporate Britain is A GLEEFUL, ALMOST AGGRESSIVE DISDAIN FOR OUR NATIONAL INTERESTS… AMONG TOO MANY COMPANIES AND STATE INSTITUTIONS THERE IS NOW AN OPEN CONTEMPT FOR OUR OWN PEOPLE. This absence of national pride is constantly on display, whether it be in THE EAGER OFFICIAL EMBRACE OF MULTICULTURALISM OR THE SURRENDER TO THE EUROPEAN UNION. Work and Pensions Secretary, Iain Duncan Smith... urged employers to hire more British workers instead of always relying on foreign labour… From Left-wing commentators came the predictable warnings about the risks of stoking up racism against foreigners, the kind of EMOTIONAL BLACKMAIL THAT HAS BEEN USED THROUGHOUT THE LAST DECADE TO CLOSE DOWN AN HONEST DEBATE ABOUT IMMIGRATION. Business leaders joined in this chorus of disapproval, though MUCH OF THEIR COMMENTARY AMOUNTED TO LITTLE MORE THAN ANTI-BRITISH PROPAGANDA. So they blathered about 'skill shortages' despite the reality that many of the jobs taken by migrants are unskilled while in advanced sectors like engineering and information technology there are, contrary to myth, disturbingly high rates of joblessness among British graduates.

The employers, like the politically correct brigade, also took to extolling the work ethic of migrants compared to supposedly lazy Britons. As usual they cited the diligence of Poles and other eastern Europeans though MORE THAN TWO THIRDS OF THE 580,000 IMMIGRANTS WHO ARRIVE HERE EVERY YEAR ACTUALLY COME FROM AFRICA AND ASIA AND MANY OF THEM ARE ONLY TOO KEEN TO JOIN THE DEPENDENCY CULTURE. MORE THAN 80 PER CENT OF SOMALIANS, FOR INSTANCE, LIVE IN TAXPAYER-FUNDED SOCIAL HOUSING. In addition, the focus on the hard-working Europeans ignores the fact that even when they hold jobs THEY CAN PUT A TREMENDOUS STRAIN ON OUR PUBLIC INFRASTRUCTURE, ESPECIALLY IF THEY BRING FAMILIES OVER HERE SINCE THEY ARE ENTITLED TO TAX CREDITS, CHILD BENEFIT, HOUSING, NHS TREATMENT AND SCHOOLING.

But by far the most ludicrous argument used against Duncan Smith was that it would be unjust, even illegal, to discriminate in favour of Britons and against foreigners. Yet THAT JUST SHOWS HOW FAR OFFICIAL BRITAIN HAS DESCENDED INTO THE MADHOUSE OF POLITICAL CORRECTNESS. Twenty years ago it would not even have been a matter for debate that companies should recruit largely from the indigenous population. That would have just been common sense. Such an outlook still prevails in almost every other country in the world, from Japan to France. THE IDEA THAT THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG IN PREFERRING A BRITISH APPLICANT TO A FOREIGNER REVEALS THE TERRIFYING EXTENT TO WHICH THE QUASI-MARXIST CREED OF SELF-LOATHING HAS TIGHTENED ITS GRIP ON OUR SOCIETY.

THIS OUTLOOK REPRESENTS A FORM OF NATIONAL SUICIDE, BASED ON THE BELIEF THAT ONE OF OUR OWN PEOPLE HAS NO MORE RIGHTS IN THIS COUNTRY THAN SOMEONE FROM THE OTHER SIDE OF THE WORLD. IT IS THE SAME SELF ABASEMENT THAT LEADS OUR GOVERNMENT TO LAVISH MONEY ON FOREIGN AID WHILE CUTTING PUBLIC SERVICES AT HOME.

What makes this approach even more offensive is its hypocrisy. Successive governments have made a fetish of tackling inequality in the workplace, constantly wailing about under-representation of women or ethnic minorities. Indeed, UNDER HARRIET HARMAN’S SO-CALLED 'EQUALITY LAW', PASSED LAST YEAR, EMPLOYERS ARE REQUIRED TO DISCRIMINATE POSITIVELY IN FAVOUR OF WOMEN AND ETHNIC MINORITIES WHEN IT COMES TO RECRUITMENT. All this, said Harman, is part of creating 'a new social order'. Yet it is a social order THAT EXCLUDES ORDINARY BRITONS.

The truth is that NO GROUP IS MORE EXCLUDED, MORE DISADVANTAGED TODAY THAN THE WHITE WORKING CLASS. OVER THE PAST DECADE 80 PER CENT OF ALL NEW JOBS HAVE GONE TO FOREIGNERS AND, WORRYINGLY, THAT HAS RISEN TO 87 PER CENT DURING THE PAST YEAR. So we have ended up in the grotesque position where THE LAW REQUIRES EMPLOYERS TO DISCRIMINATE IN FAVOUR OF WOMEN AND MINORITIES YET THE POLITICALLY CORRECT BRIGADE REACTS WITH OUTRAGE AT ANY SUGGESTION THAT FIRMS SHOULD DISCRIMINATE IN FAVOUR OF BRITISH PEOPLE. THE NEGLECT OF BRITONS WORKS IN OTHER WAYS TOO, LIKE IN THE DISMALLY LOW STANDARDS OF EDUCATION THAT LEAVE MILLIONS OF SCHOOL-LEAVERS EFFECTIVELY ILLITERATE AND INNUMERATE...

EVEN BEFORE THE RECENT RECESSION THERE WERE MORE THAN FIVE MILLION BRITONS OF WORKING AGE LIVING ON BENEFITS... THROWN ON THE SCRAPHEAP BY A LABOUR GOVERNMENT.”



On 2 July 2011, The Daily Mail quoted the response of David Frost, Director-General of the British Chambers of Commerce, to Iain Duncan Smith's speech the day before:

“After 11 years of formal education, EMPLOYERS SAY THEY GET KIDS COMING TO THEM WHO CAN’T WRITE, WHO CAN’T COMMUNICATE, AND WHO DON’T HAVE THAT WORK ETHIC… So, clearly, when you have these bright young Eastern Europeans who really want to work and have very good customer service skills then employers are going to turn to them, AND QUITE RIGHT. These businesses are competing IN A GLOBALISED ECONOMY.”

If a Machiavellian establishment with a malign agenda deliberately dumbs you down and then casts you adrift in order to prefer the foreigner in the “globalised economy,” you could be forgiven for giving up.
Especially when you recall how your ancestors slogged and slaved and sacrificed and died the deaths in all the wars dreamt up for them to die in by the Machivellians of bygone times.

Don’t give up, son.

"WE RISK LEAVING MORE BRITISH CITIZENS OUT OF WORK AND THE MOST VULNERABLE GROUP WHO WILL BE THE MOST AFFECTED ARE YOUNG PEOPLE… But government cannot do it all. As we work hard to break welfare dependency and get young people ready for the labour market, WE NEED BUSINESSES TO GIVE THEM A CHANCE, AND NOT JUST FALL BACK ON LABOUR FROM ABROAD."



On 1 July 2011, The Daily Telegraph quoted Judith Hackitt, CBE, Chair of the Health and Safety Commission, thus:

“THE CREEPING CULTURE OF RISK-AVERSION AND FEAR OF LITIGATION ALSO PUTS AT RISK OUR CHILDREN’S EDUCATION AND PREPARATION FOR ADULT LIFE. CHILDREN TODAY ARE DENIED, OFTEN ON SPURIOUS HEALTH AND SAFETY GROUNDS, MANY OF THE FORMATIVE EXPERIENCES THAT SHAPED MY GENERATION.

PLAYGROUNDS HAVE BECOME JOYLESS, for fear of a few cuts and bruises…

In many cases, the people behind these unreasonable rulings are… MISGUIDED JOBSWORTHS… But a trend of far more concern to me is THE USE OF HEALTH AND SAFETY AS A CONVENIENT EXCUSE BY EMPLOYERS AND OTHER ORGANISATIONS CYNICALLY LOOKING FOR A WAY TO DISGUISE THEIR REAL MOTIVES…

HEALTH AND SAFETY HAS SURELY BECOME ONE OF THE MOST WELL-WORN AND DISPIRITING PHRASES IN THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE. From news reports to TV dramas, it has become convenient shorthand for SOMEONE, SOMEWHERE, STOPPING SOMEONE FROM DOING SOMETHING THEY WANT TO. Our message to bureaucrats… is clear… Don’t use health and safety law as a convenient scapegoat or we will challenge you.”

The Telegraph added:

"A litany of what she called 'daft decisions' in recent years has included ordering children to wear goggles to play conkers, banning running at a pancake race and stopping firefighters using the station pole!"
